Industrial Boiler & Mechanical is proud to offer packaged "O" and "D" Type watertube boilers. With pressure capacity up to 1500 psig and the ability to generate saturated or superheated steam, water tube boilers are commonly used throughout the power generation industry to drive turbines.
"D" type watertube boilers are available from 10,000 PPH to over 500,000 PPH, with modular and field-erected sizes available. They can also be customized for superheated steam, with superheaters placed within the boiler for optimized performance.
"O" Type watertube boilers offer a symmetrical design and rapid ramp rate, with larger field-erected sizes available. Easy to ship, install, operate and maintain, sizing and capacities are available from 10,000 PPH up to 500,000 PPH of steam flow, well suited for high-pressure superheated steam where needed. The "O" Type boiler can be customized to your exact specifications, with pressures from 250 PSIG to 1,500 PSIG and steam temperatures up to 1,050 degrees F.
IB&M is experienced in sales and service of all major brands of packaged watertube boilers including Cleaver Brooks Boilers, Nebraska Boilers, English Boilers, Zurn Boilers, and Erie City Boilers.
Watertube boiler design, operation & advantages
Unlike firetube boilers, watertube boilers pass water through the tubes, which are then heated externally by hot gas from the furnace flue gas. The heated water rises into a steam drum, where it can then be reheated by a superheater to achieve even higher steam temperatures - this superheated steam is a dry gas most commonly used to drive turbine engines used in thermal power stations.

Watertube boilers can handle higher operating pressures (up to 5000 psi) and provide greater steam output than firetube boilers. They are frequently used in power generation plants that require large amounts of high pressure steam production. Because there is less water volume, a watertube boiler can handle steam fluctuations more precisely than a firetube boiler and has generally better turndown.
As a full service boiler system provider, IB&M can install, commission, and service any make or model of watertube boiler. In addition, burner controls can be wired before shipping. Our extensive on-hand inventory of after-market replacement parts can get you operational with minimum downtime.
We welcome an opportunity to share more information on new or reconditioned used watertube boilers. IB&M also provides a wide range emergency rental watertube boilers.
