Monthly Combustion Service

Our monthly service consists of checking the vital components of combustion that are critical for safe and efficient operation.  These items are checked at low-fire, 25% firing, 50% firing range, 75% firing range and 100% firing range. The following information will be checked and adjusted at these ranges:

1. Percent 0₂
2. Percent CO₂
3. Percent Excess Air
4. Stack Temperature
5. Combustion Efficiency
6. CO Parts Per Million

Each of these items are an important factor for proper combustion. Our service technicians will provide you with a full combustion report each month complete with actual printouts from a computerized combustion analyzer. You will be notified of any discrepancies that are in need of attention. Please note that if plant production will not allow the boiler to be held at certain firing positions for calibration, the boiler will be checked and calibrated at positions allowed by the production limitations.

Quarterly Safety Checks

The following safety items are to be checked each quarter on each boiler. This procedure requires the need to “trip” the boiler to verify the proper operation of some of the safety components. With each safety check, a complete written report will also be provided.

Note on Safety Checks: If for some reason the plant production can not allow the boiler to be shut down or “tripped” during normal week day production hours, IB&M can make arrangements to complete required safety check on a Saturday or evening hours. In this event the customer will only be charged for the overtime portion of that work provided.
